مركبة الفضاء "المثابرة" ترصد لقطات لفوبوس أثناء عبوره لشمس

التقطت مركبة الفضاء “المثابرة” التابعة لوكالة ناسا صورًا جميلة فوبوس من المريخ أثناء عبوره للشمس، مما يجعل كسوف الشمس مرئيًا بوضوح من المريخ لأول مرة.

وفقًا لراديو مونت كارلو الدولي، اعتمدت المركبة الفضائية، التي كانت على سطح الكوكب الأحمر منذ فبراير 2021، جيلًا جديدًا من كاميرات Mastcam-Z المتقدمة.

قالت راشيل هوسون من شركة Malin Space Science Systems ومقرها سان دييغو وأحد أعضاء فريق Mastcam-Z الذي يدير الكاميرا: “كنت أعلم أن الصور ستكون جيدة، لكنني لم أتوقع أن تكون مذهلة بهذا الشكل”.

فوبوس هو أكبر قمرين على المريخ، يدوران ثلاث مرات في اليوم، وهو قريب جدًا من سطح الكوكب لدرجة أنه لا يمكن رؤيته دائمًا في بعض أجزاء المريخ.

استمر الكسوف المرصود لما يزيد قليلاً عن 40 ثانية وكان أقصر من كسوف الشمس المعتاد الناجم عن قمر الأرض، وهذا ليس مفاجئًا لأن فوبوس أصغر بحوالي 157 مرة من قمر الأرض.

تأمل ناسا أن تساعد الصور العلماء على فهم ديناميكيات الحركة والعلاقة بين المريخ والقمر فوبوس.
